Define the controlling information
Agree which document communicates each requirement and how conflicts will be resolved. A three-dimensional model can explain shape while a drawing carries other instructions, but the receiving team needs a clear relationship between them. Include the revision identities in the handoff. Do not assume that two files with similar names contain the same approved design.
Review the package together
Check the model, drawing and supporting notes as a single package before release. Look for inconsistencies in units, features, revision and intended material. Use an agreed review method rather than relying on a quick visual impression. If a supplier identifies a contradiction, clarify it through the controlled change process. A consistent package saves the maker from choosing which document to believe.
